Winnie Chapman runs afoul of the authorities in a Third World country and her country’s Embassy was no help either.
Flogged, Falaka, the “Pole” and the “Milkshake”
Poor Winnie, in addition to her prison sentence, was also forced to undergo ritualistic public ordeals: she was flogged in public, subjected to Falaka, and made to ride the “Spanish Horse.” Nigel was forced to watch these public punishments. Behind closed doors a cruel prison boss put her on the “Pole” and exposed her to the stomach-turning torture known as the “Milkshake.” What’s worse is that during her incarceration, he made Winnie work as a prostitute. She was eventually forcibly bred and became pregnant.
