The Questioning was inspired by the interrogation and torture of political dissidents. This has been the case historically in such countries as the Philippines, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
Some were tortured as father watched what was done to their siblings. Sometimes it was a boyfriend, lover or brother.
Young woman’s interrogation
The military junta had been kidnapping suspected dissidents and bringing them in for “questioning.” Maribel was just a teaching assistant at the University. But, she ended up on the ‘subversives’ list.
Brought in for interrogation, Maribel faced the Chief Interrogator, “Basil” and his five sadistic assistants. To add to her stress, they summoned her father. Then, she was tortured as father watched what they did to her.
Torture & sex abuse
When she resisted, Maribel was methodically subjected to rape, sodomy, breast torture. She was subjected to electro-torture with a cattle prod on sensitive body part; being tortured as father watched. Basil and his assistants used other “extreme” interrogation techniques as well. She tried to resist, but eventually, as was usually the case with such victims, she was “broken.”
