Sometime in the future in a third world country, an English woman runs afoul of the authorities. Tried, convicted and sentenced, she was forced to undergo ritualistic, public punishments designed to shame and break her. She was also compelled to work as a prostitute in prison; and her husband was coerced to watch her public punishments.
